Prešov Region Regional Tourism Organisation has organised the 11th edition of the popular travel competition LEGENDARIUM, which encourages families with children to explore interesting places in the Prešov Region during the summer.
LEGENDARIUM 2026 runs from 13 June to 13 September.
LEGENDARIUM is a major family travel competition organised annually by the Prešov Region Regional Tourism Organisation to promote tourism in the Prešov Region. Through legendary heroes, it showcases A wide range of suggestions for day trips, from the Tatra Mountains to the Poloniny. This year, too, will bring plenty of trips and experiences for travellers of all ages. Participants can earn exciting rewards for the trips they complete. The greatest reward for everyone, however, will be experiences in the great outdoors and at interesting venues.
The project is being carried out by KOCR Prešov Region from the membership fee Prešov Self-Governing Region.
All trips in the mobile app
Families can find all the excursions and legends in free mobile app LEGENDARIUM. Children earn competition points for the trips they’ve completed directly in the app and collect stickers for their favourite booklet. Even whilst the competition is still running, they can win rewards at three different points thresholds. At the end, there will be a prize draw with exciting prizes for the whole family.
At LEGENDARIUM 2026, families can look forward to 16 legendary heroes, who will guide them to 16 natural sites and will present more than 80 facilities and attractions throughout the Prešov Region. As well as the well-known tourist attractions, visitors will also be able to discover smaller local museums and lesser-known places that hold the region’s unique stories. New for 2026 are the ‘bonus spots’, which feature selected events, bonus natural sites and dining venues.

Legendary tour guides across the region
Every region has its own story and its own legendary guide. In the Tatras, a water sprite will accompany the children Štrbko, a shepherd in the Prešov area Michal, who, according to legend, discovered salt deposits a long time ago. In the vicinity Stropkova together with Countess Ilona, they discover a sulphurous spring, in Slanské hills can be selected with herbalist Marka all the way to the rock formation with the amusing name of Džad. For the magnificent views at Bardejove will take the children King Matej, specifically the new observation tower The King’s Well above the village of Lenartov.
Tourists can also look forward to two new educational trails: Čergov on Lysá (Sabinov district), which is due to open on 21 June 2026, and the footpath The Land of the Rusyns and Andy Warhol in Habura. Both footpaths are being built by KOCR Prešov Region.
