The Pre\u0161ov Region Regional Tourism Organisation, in collaboration with the Pre\u0161ov Self-Governing Region, presents a new feature for the 2026 summer season \u2013 a digital destination card Pre\u0161ov Region Travel Card<\/a>. The tab in the mobile app offers discounts, benefits and tips on day trips and events. Visitors thus gain access to a comprehensive digital guide to the Pre\u0161ov Region right on their mobile phones.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Pre\u0161ov Region Travel Card is freely available to download as a mobile app. Users will find\u00a0dozens of connected devices<\/strong>\u00a0and partners who offer\u00a0concessionary admission, special offers or discounts on services<\/strong>. They can enjoy these benefits at accommodation providers, restaurants, museums, galleries, wellness centres and many other attractions and services in the region. In particular,\u00a0attention paid to<\/strong>\u00a0on offer\u00a0benefits for families with children, which make planning summer trips easier and family holidays more affordable.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n

Key features of the app include\u00a0hundreds of ideas for days out\u00a0<\/strong>divided into thematic categories. Visitors will find recommendations on the map for natural attractions, trails, observation towers, caves, cultural and historical monuments, religious sites, family attractions and adrenaline-fuelled experiences. The app is also regularly updated\u00a0a calendar of events from across the Pre\u0161ov Region<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The app also displays the content\u00a0based on the user\u2019s current location<\/strong>. Once location services are enabled, it automatically suggests the nearest discounts, partner establishments, tips for day trips, events and points of interest in the vicinity. Visitors can therefore explore the region easily and conveniently, right from where they are. The app is also available in several languages, making it useful not only for local visitors but also for tourists from abroad.<\/p>\n\n\n

Milan Majersk\u00fd, Chairman of the Pre\u0161ov Self-Governing Region, emphasised that modern digital tools and cooperation between stakeholders in the tourism sector are an important part of tourism development: \u201eTourism is one of the key pillars of regional development. The new destination card is a further step towards modernising services for visitors, whilst also supporting businesses, cultural institutions and tourist attractions in our region. It also offers benefits specifically tailored to families with children, so that they can take advantage of discounts and find inspiration for trips in our region during the holidays. I believe that the Pre\u0161ov Region Travel Card will help visitors discover more places, stay with us for longer and take away even more memorable experiences from the Pre\u0161ov Region.<\/em><\/strong>\u201c<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201eThe main\u00a0the purpose of the destination card<\/strong>\u00a0is to support\u00a0to boost visitor numbers to the region, encourage tourists to use local services and, at the same time, forge stronger links between the various tourism stakeholders.<\/strong>\u00a0Visitors can find, all in one place, not only information on what to see and do, but also specific benefits that encourage them to explore more locations and services across the entire region. The concept of destination and tourist cards is not new worldwide. Similar schemes are operating successfully in many European regions and cities, where they help visitors to explore local attractions more easily, take advantage of partner offers and plan their stay. However, the Pre\u0161ov Region Travel Card project is unique in Slovakia in that it covers the entire self-governing region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The activity is being carried out\u00a0with financial support from the Ministry of Tourism and Sport of the Slovak Republic.<\/strong>\u00a0The aim of the project is to support the development of tourism, enhance the region\u2019s appeal and provide visitors with modern tools for exploring its natural, cultural and historical treasures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The app is available free of charge<\/strong>\u00a0to\u00a0Google Play<\/a>\u00a0a\u00a0App Store<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
