The bridge was destroyed towards the end of the Second World War. And this is where the story of the largest arch in Central Europe begins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The longest railway bridge<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Hanu\u0161ovsk\u00fd Viaduct&nbsp;<\/strong>It is the longest arched railway bridge (390 m long) in Central Europe. It consists of&nbsp;<strong>one arched opening and nine openings<\/strong>&nbsp;with a steel truss structure. It was built as&nbsp;<strong>part of the 50-kilometre route from Pre\u0161ov to Str\u00e1\u017eske<\/strong>&nbsp;and formed part of four railway viaducts with a total length of 946.92 metres.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">At a height of 40 metres<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Hanu\u0161ovsk\u00fd Viaduct<\/strong>The bridge is constructed from nine steel truss bridge structures and concrete piers clad in course masonry. The bridge decks were once lined with oak planks, which were later replaced by corrugated steel sheets. The track runs on a viaduct above ground level&nbsp;<strong>at a maximum height of 40 m<\/strong>. The railway gradient is 10 \u2030 and the foundations of the piers are said to be as deep as the piers are high above ground. There are four further bridge structures within the town\u2019s cadastral area.
